Bakkavor Group, the leading provider of fresh prepared food in the UK, is set to recruit 24 new apprentices in 2019 as part of its ongoing commitment to developing the skills of enthusiastic individuals who want to embark on a career in the food manufacturing industry.
Bakkavor’s Apprenticeship Programme is nationwide and spans across a variety of functional roles including Engineering, Manufacturing, Technical, Process, Procurement, IT, Finance, HR, Marketing and Bakery Development.
As part of this, the company has opened the application process for enthusiastic individuals to join two of its leading advanced apprenticeships in Aston and Crewe.
At Crewe, Bakkavor is looking for two Engineering Apprentices to provide a high level of support whilst gaining fault-finding experience to ensure the efficient and effective running of the business. Our Engineers are problem solvers who ensure that all production runs smoothly and that Bakkavor delivers to its customers.
The company is also looking for someone with a passion for food to join its Bakery Development Apprenticeship in Aston. The Development Baker role is crucial to ensure that the business stays ahead of the market in terms of latest bakery trends and techniques. Working in an office and the test bakery kitchens, this role is mainly about innovation, exploring ingredients and developing new and exciting bakery products.
The successful applicants will experience real responsibility from day one, contributing to key business activities and projects, whilst at the same time studying towards a relevant, nationally recognised qualification. The programme also focuses on the development of life skills by encouraging apprentices to get involved with local community projects and charity initiatives.
Bakkavor has been running its prestigious apprenticeship programme for seven years. Last year, Nathan Cope, one of its current engineering apprentices won ‘Young Engineer of the Year’ at the national Food Processing Awards.
There are currently 300 existing employees employed on apprenticeships, highlighting the importance of apprenticeships to the business.
