BlueSeal air curtains by Brightec have achieved rising prominence in Europe as a choice piece of equipment for food and pharmaceutical distributors to keep goods cool and save refrigeration energy during deliveries. Having established a firm footing in Europe, Brightec announces its partnership with Thermo King, a leader in sustainable transport temperature control solutions, for exclusive distribution in the US and Canada.
What started off as a father and son operation with a small team of physicists has since expanded to a manufacturing site in Holland that distributes to over 33 countries worldwide. Through close partnerships with leading commercial bodybuilders throughout Europe, BlueSeal has been adopted by some of the biggest names in temperature-controlled distribution as a must-have solution for cargo climate control.
The units will be exclusively available to purchase through Thermo King dealerships in the US and Canada, with the rest of world remaining available to purchase directly from Brightec or through local dealerships and bodybuilders.
Hans Opdam, inventor of BlueSeal air curtains said: “we are delighted to partner with Thermo King who have shown tremendous support not only in distributing BlueSeal throughout the US and Canada, but promoting the product to their vast network of dealerships. Thermo King has a strong reputation for their commitment to sustainable solutions and we are excited to be part of their offering.”
Rod Castro, Growth Product Manager for Trailer Parts at Thermo King said: “Our partnership with Brightec marks a pivotal step in our journey to deliver elevated customer value. Through our strong dealer network, we are excited to offer the BlueSeal air curtain as it complements our transport refrigeration technology and provides customers an innovative, energy efficient cold chain solution to meet their sustainability goals”.
By adding to Thermo King’s expansive portfolio of energy efficiency technology, the two companies are able to offer transporters in the US and Canada a proven solution for managing cargo temperature during door openings when products are at their most vulnerable. BlueSeal achieves this without any obstruction to the driver with a consistent, uninterrupted climate barrier. Through independent tests by Brunel University and the Centre for Sustainable Energy Use in Food Chains (CSEF), BlueSeal demonstrated a substantial savings of 30% of energy in a small box truck and 45% of energy to recover cargo temperature in an 18 tonne refrigerated truck model”.
BlueSeal has already received a positive reception from Thermo King clients that will be installing BlueSeal in the near future and both companies look forward to seeing its potential realised in one of the world’s biggest markets for temperature-controlled transport.
