Delamere Dairy, the UK’s speciality and alternatives dairy, has selected Fowler Welch to provide a full supply chain solution for a major retail customer.
The multi award-winning chilled logistics specialist will be responsible for stock collection, stockholding, order processing, picking and distribution of the dairy’s Marks & Spencer (M&S) volumes, as well as providing full customer services support.
In developing a solution for their new client, Fowler Welch developed a bespoke ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) messaging process to allow multiple clients’ ASNs to be processed into M&S as part of the implementation. This innovation, along with its outstanding customer service record, has helped Fowler Welch stand out from the competition.
The tender process was initiated when Delamere Dairy was invited to visit the Fowler Welch site at Nuneaton to see first-hand the system-controlled environment and industry-leading service levels the facility provides.
Alan Whiston, Operation Director, Delamere Dairy, said: “During the visit to the Fowler Welch Nuneaton site we were struck by the exceptional service levels and on-site dedicated customer support. These factors are incredibly important to us in selecting a supply chain partner and are why we chose Fowler Welch to look after this very important retail client. We’re extremely pleased with the 100% weekly service levels that have been achieved since the contract started.”
Nick Hay, CEO at Fowler Welch, said: “We are delighted to welcome Delamere Dairy to our growing portfolio at Nuneaton. The facility already boasts some big-name brands that demonstrate just how well-equipped it is to provide excellent customer service. It is a point of pride for us that the high service levels and dedicated customer support team were recognised and we look forward to developing a successful relationship with Delamere.”
