Peter Staines’ involvement with FRIGOBLOCK dates back to the late 80s, when he purchased equipment for a dairy company. The partnership continued during the 90s after accepting an invitation to work for FRIGOBLOCK. Peter is responsible for introducing the equipment to the vehicle fleets of several large operators, who are still users of the equipment today. He has remained involved with the product ever since, more recently as Director of transport refrigeration service provider Peter Staines Refrigeration Ltd (PSR), which was started in 2003 to support the increasing number of FRIGOBLOCK units entering operation in the UK.
PSR has established itself as the leading FRIGOBLOCK servicing company across the South of England and has developed a specialist installation facility for electric refrigeration systems in Southampton to meet both current and future installation requirements as demand for the FRIGOBLOCK product continues to grow. PSR is also planning to introduce capacity further north to meet the future installation requirements growth.
To meet the requirements of the UK’s exit from the EU, since 2020, PSR has been importing the FRIGOBLOCK equipment as the UK’s leading FRIGOBLOCK Sales & Service dealer. “Being totally involved with the FRIGOBLOCK products from the late 80s through to the latest products available now, I am able to offer my knowledge & experience to customers, allowing them to make an informed choice when investing in the future of their refrigerated vehicle fleet,” said Peter Staines.
“Our ability to assist customers through the purchasing decision, order placement, installation process and then to be able to support the equipment for the lifetime of the vehicle, has given us a strong base of loyal customers who look to PSR for support year after year. The recent requirement to import the equipment has meant I’m selling FRIGOBLOCKs again to many of the customers I sold to in the 90s, who are still operators.”
To support the increased product demand that has occurred in the past two years and to assist with the continued growth of the business, Shane Crook was appointed as FRIGOBLOCK Dealership Manager in November 2022 and joined the management team. Peter Staines commented: “Shane is joining the business at an exciting time when sustainability and electric equipment is at the forefront of most purchasing decisions. I believe his young & enthusiastic nature is just what we need to help us continue to provide support as our customer numbers keep increasing.”
Prior to joining PSR, Shane gained a wealth of experience in the transport refrigeration industry, working in management roles in vehicle rental companies and more recently working for a Thermo King dealership. Speaking about his new role, Shane said: “Being the 3rd generation in my family involved in this industry, I have developed a strong knowledge base over the years. Peter’s knowledge of the FRIGOBLOCK product is the best in the industry and is evident from the conversations I have had with customers in the short amount of time I been at PSR.” Shane continued, “PSR focuses on a customer first approach, that customers have come to trust.
