Tesco has announced changes to responsibilities within its senior leadership team. All changes will come into effect from July 16th.
Charles Wilson to step down as UK and ROI CEO
Following a diagnosis for throat cancer, Charles Wilson will step down from his position as CEO of Tesco UK & ROI and from his position on the PLC board. Though he has responded very responded well to treatment, he will reduce his work commitments to concentrate on his recuperation. Going forward, he will focus on leading the Booker business, continuing to deliver cost synergies and driving growth opportunities as set out in the merger agreement. He will also remain a member of the Executive Committee and contribute to the broader Tesco strategy. He will continue to report to Dave Lewis.
New roles for Jason Tarry and Andrew Yaxley
Tesco has also announced that Group Chief Product Officer Jason Tarry will become CEO of the UK & ROI business and Andrew Yaxley, currently CEO of Tesco Ireland, will be promoted to Group Chief Product Officer and join the Tesco Executive Committee.
