To ensure social distancing of its pairs of service engineers, Union Industries has hired a fleet of cars to be used alongside its works vehicles.  One service engineer travels to customer sites in a works van, which is equipped with spare and tools, while their colleague travels in a hire car.

Andrew Lane, Managing Director of Union Industries, said: “The importance and the pressure on food distribution is incredible, so we are working very hard to be a real frontline supplier to our important customers and maintaining the operation of these facilities, that keeps food on the shelves at supermarkets and ultimately keeps the country fed.

“We have ensured our Service Engineers can be rapidly deployed throughout the country to deliver essential repairs and maintenance while adhering to the health guidance from the government.  Our people are highly experienced when operating on sites with strict health and safety restrictions, which is even more important in the current situation, and are dedicated to ensuring that the effectiveness of our customers’ operations remain at the highest levels.”
